after their great debut >motzbaz / indeed< on afao recordings and the following 12inches >hello kool nice< and <langenthal ep< on quintessentials recordings, which found its way into the bags and charts of djs like quarion, laurent garnier, jimpster and many more, jagged strikes back with a 12 on bonzzaj recordings. this single also contains a hot remix by the dutch multi-talented man aardvarck, one half of the rednose district. jaggeds productions are restrained and minimal in the right way - they doesnt let things get overloaded. they focuses mainly on straight beats and functional house music but always with the right ingredient of soul and rawness. the title track ten to twelve is a heavy cut with a lot of disco influences, funky basslines, cool house-grooves and surprising changes all over the track. the remix of ten to twelve comes from aardvarck, who releases on rushhour, kindred spirits and delsin. he transformed the original in an broken beat stomper, which sounds like it emerged straight out of londons co-op. the b-side contains chicago, a deep house number with forward going percussions, warm strings, oldscool-house-vocals and a slight acid flavour and last but not least the track an orange drippin, which takes you with its deep synth, percussions, basslines, bells and things in the deeper shades of…jagged nation. hot shit gesundheit

in mos ferrys eyes mikael stavostrands no turning back(mfp024) release at the end of 2006 still marks a highlight of his minimal techno period - and this is not only because of big bullys unmistakable vocals. now, none other than daniel sanchez (mumbling yeah) takes up the subject once again and with his no turning back remix he picks up where the krause duo started tastefully back then. daniels 12 minutes remix relies totally on an energetic rolling groove and puts the vocals always precisely when others would think it cant get more driving. the second remix was made by mikael stavostrand himself and is a straight and spatial welldesigned dj tool. for his own re-interpretation big bully got reinforcement through the argentinean odnu and heads more towards dub techno. these are three very succeeded remixes, which awake the desire to listen one more time to the original (despite the title)

the first release on mirrors, >shitzzo< by marco polo is a cool, groovy technotrack. marco had releases on labels like i220, toneman or hidden agenda and is well known for his clean, minimalistic technostyle. the release also includes great remixes by gaetano parisio (adagio), dave shokh & simon beeston (highgrade). the parisio remix is a houseflavoured percy groover. the other mixes are more into minimalistic techno.

in japanese niwa means garden. the concept of what an album should be is really taken seriously here. with >niwa< what you open your ears and emotions to isnt just another loose bundle of tracks. all the single stories, element by element, are constantly fusing together into a greater whole. this is rippertons world. he draws on all the influences that have journeyed with him as a passionate musician on life’s long and winding road. influences far beyond dark booming warehouse parties abound, and are just as likely to conjure up vivid images of dewy lausanne sunsets. folk tinged downbeat experiments peacefully co-exist with delicious jazz blueprints and sublime ambient soundscapes, sitting in harmony with deeply hypnotic house grooves.

it was only a matter of time. two genre-defining artists together ... pop music and dance musics most famous arbiters of taste, collaborating at last. dj hells >u can dance< is an interpretation of an unreleased bryan ferry song, but its one that reflects a perfect melding of two distinct personalities, a record that sounds as if the voice and music were made for each other.
hell, of course, has been riding high on the success of >teufelswerk<, his masterpiece of a double album, a journey replete with fruitful experiments and club bombs. one that has yielded both massive hits and not a tiny bit of controversy along the way. ferry, meanwhile, has been as busy as ever—recording a new album, performing in places as far afield as siberia, opening up the cannes film festival ... basically just being bryan ferry.
and now here they are together ... it all started in 2006 when hell dropped in to meet ferry at his west london studio. at first they discussed hell remixing an old roxy music track, and then it turned into something else - something new (u can dance).
they had similar impressions of one another — hell: >i was impressed by his aura and his look.<, ferry: >he impressed us with his sophistication and charm.< fast forward a few years later, and hell is hard at work on teufelswerk and putting the finishing touches on the aforementioned song titled >u can dance<, a serpentine moroder-esque disco burner. with the help of old friend peter kruder, of kruder and dorfmeister fame, hell fashioned the song into a smoldering nine-minute highlight of the double disc set, in which ferry turns in a typically assured vocal performance.
ferry may seem like an unexpected fan of dance, but hes been going to clubs since he was a teenager, and in his lengthy career hes worked with legends such as nile rodgers of chic and david williams from michael jacksons band. >its always a pleasure to work with people from that genre, who follow a singular groove.<
the single follows in the wake of hells >the dj feat. p. diddy< which has won over floors and critics alike with its nearly 30-minute radio slave remix and fine work from the likes of deetron, jay haze and others. on >u can dance< hell and ferry have similarly pulled out all the stops for the remixes, gathering up work from the grammy-nominated producer carl craig, dfa mainstay tim goldsworthy and pop electro superstars simian mobile disco.

following a number of remix works from olmeto records at the close of 2009, our first release of 2010 puts bushwacka! back in charge. two sublime house tracks with masterful percussion both dripping with style.
>battered< paves the way with tribal rhythms, flutes and chants whilst >sw4< takes an edgier electronic route. olm026 showcases two very different sides to bushwackas personality, both of which are supremely relevant on todays dancefloors…

quintessentials tracks are raw, but they have soul. its what we all loved about those old house records: a raw yet soulful music.

the ep kicks off with the title track >we rock non-stop<. tight kick drums layered with pitched 808 subs set the basis of the track. chopped up machine and voice samples are then layered with smooth pads and delays to complete the track. the second track of the ep >solvent abuse< sees sync 24 sticking to his dark roots. distorted vocals, haunting pads, trippy sequences and dirty bass combined with rolling beats and subs!
the reverse side of the 12 inch is slightly deeper, techy affair. >chosen module< is a spacious wash of delays and pads mixed with robotic bass and crisp round beats. the final track >marios mushroom< carries on the spaced out trippy theme of the side with more spooky pads, bubbly bass lines and hypnotic rhythms.

since his last release on circus company (fleurette ccs033), djulz add been quite busy in the sutdio. he did a lot of remixes for slam on soma, matthew dear on get physical, 2000 & one on 100%, arnaud le texier on 20:20 vision and spencer parker on rekids. hes now back with a freshly baked 3 tracker called rotondo. thats also the track title of the a side. rotondo is techy and slightly dark. there you feel a constant pressure that will leeds you to euphoric pad which is just a simple saxophone screaming sample. on the b side we are getting into some naïve and housy feeling with on the road. then ideas are fishes is closing down the record on catchy vocal hook. that king of track to keep the party rolling. once again d julz delivers some great cuts that should be soon on rotondo everywhere

rotating assembly is a band put together by theo parrish. this loose detroit outfit evolves around 21 people, who exchange talents and energy. all tracks are written and produced and masterminded by theo parrish, who has given them his (sound) signature sound a true sound signature release. artists included in the band are: genevieve (known for vocals with recloose), maat lo (aka billy lo), marcellus pittman (recorded/djs for/with 3 chairs), rick wilhite (3 chairs), warren harris (recorded with dan curtin), andres. also newcomers such as karen bosco (most vocals) john dougalas (trumpet), king sunshine & trent mitchell (double bass) put in incredible effort to make this release a top sound signature title. from the laidback vocal tune naturally to the instrumental emotions of melt its all there to make this album an allround one. from strength to strength, theo parrish takes it to the next level, once again. the first 12 inch comes with an exclusive instrumental mix of melt.
